Activities and objectives of ECAN

The Christian Human Rights Group is a network of the Evangelical Christian Alliance of Nepal (ECAN).The added value of ECAN in the Nepalese human rights debate is its special expertise in the religious freedom of minority Christians in the nation.
Evangelical Christian Alliance of Nepal will campaign for the basic human right of the minority is driving Christians’ right to freedom of religion all over the nation of Nepal and in the world.
The goal is to make known the persecuted Christians and to influence Nepalese government decision-makers and the media to improve the human rights of minority Christians in the democratic federal republic of Nepal
It affects the human rights of Christians in domestic and foreign policy and to raises debate about religious tolerance also in the nation of Nepal
ECANepal organizes campaigns and seminar events around the Christian theme of human rights and religious freedom in Nepal and will make it known to all concern human right organization all over the world.

Core Values of ECAN

  • 1. Individual’s inviolable dignity Every human being has an intrinsic value as God has created an immeasurably valuable person.
  • 2. Freedom of religion and justice In accordance with Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone should have the same right to choose and express their religion. Our aim is to bring human rights violations against Christians to justice in this regard.
  • A. Reliability: The information we provide is reliable, timely and verifiable.
  • B. Respect: We respect all actors for religious freedom and human rights.
  • 3. Christian brotherhood and sisterhood: Christians all over the world are brothers and sisters regardless of race or nationality. For the sake of our faith, we act for persecuted, suffering Christians in Nepal and in the world.
  • 4. Faith in forgiveness and love: In the example of Christ, we believe that forgiveness, love, and reconciliation are factors that defeat individual people and communities.
  • 5. Future and hope: We believe that the gospel of Jesus brings people a future and hope.
  • Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 18: UN Everyone has the freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; this right includes the freedom to change religion or belief and to declare religion or belief alone or together with others, both publicly and privately, by teaching and practicing devotion and religious expenditure.
