Grace Bible College is a project of Evangelical Christian alliance of Nepal (ECAN)
With Mt. Everest large in its landscape, Nepal is a small federal republic democratic nation (32million) situated between two very large ones: china and India. Most of its citizens are Hindu. Christians make up ½ of 1% of the population. But God is moving.
The greatest need for sound theological, Spirit-filled leadership training for pastors in Nepal. The growing numbers of pastors have virtually no theological training. Part of this organization’s (ECANEPAL) mission statement reads: “to equip and train pastors and Christians workers for ministry.
To empower local and national Christian leaders to plant churches among the unreached. To preach and be a witness to the gospel of Christ and establish his kingdom in Nepal.” this would include neighboring countries.
Since first being opened, the existing Bible College has been able to teach about 200 young leaders the majority of whom are already serving as church leaders. Our current efforts center on construction of a building for the Bible College, which can accommodate our current student body of sixty.
We are praying and trusting God to buy land and we estimate that this will require at least 32856 square feet of land, and a building containing the classes, chapel, auditorium, hostel, offices, library, study rooms to be constructed and completed phase by phase within a three years’ time.
We will also need to equip the school with furniture, instruments, computers, photocopiers, overhead projectors, minibus, dining room furniture and groceries, kitchen instruments and equipment, sports equipment, library furniture, auditorium furniture and equipment. bonus and social benefits are calculated on the basis of one & half month (12.5%) salary per annum. welfare calculations are based on cash for pocket money for each student $15 per month and food on an average cost of $ 85 per month for each student and medical support in case of sickness of any or some of the students as well as a first aid box for accidental incidents or minor sicknesses is $10 per head per month. The estimated no of students is expected about two hundred 200 in future. Hostel rent is calculated for a year will be paid until the first phase construction will be completed and students will shift to the built hostel. All the expenses are calculated with an inflation rate of 10% for successive years.
